NoVus label founder Scott Kemp continues to rise as one of London’s most propitious underground figures as he receives regular support from the likes of tINI, YaYa, Rhadoo, Anthea, Pan-Pot, Leon, Julie Marghilano, Randall M, and Chad Andrew to date. Marking the fourth release on NoVus, the EP inaugurates with ‘Mullen’ – an intricately percussive production with subtle vocal coos and soothing atmospherics added into the equation. Next up ‘Trossaap’ settles for a moody groove, whilst compelling synths add an element of ethereality that is fast becoming a signature vibe to the producer’s sound. Tying up the release ‘Undertone’ is a far more spectral affair, featuring dubby echoes and a mesmerising flow that makes for a mind-bending composition exemplary of Kemp’s tenacious skills in the studio.
